Ageing: the golden opportunity 8-10 November 2017 CROWN PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Welcome from the Conference Committee Chair

Welcome to the 50th AAG Conference in Perth.

A golden opportunity is generally defined as a chance to do something that is likely to be successful and rewarding. That is why in its 50th anniversary the AAG Conference is focussing on the golden opportunity which the older population creates for themselves, the community and the economy.

50 years of experience brings confidence and self-assurance, and AAG is looking forward by turning this year’s conference programme into a think tank for ageing issues. Delegates will have the chance to participate in an engaging and interactive conference built on the concept that an ageing population is a valuable resource.

The conference will showcase International and Australian keynote speakers, and over 200 presentations by emerging and renowned researchers, aged care health and allied practitioners, policy makers and other professionals working in the space of ageing.

Perth is alive with music, theatre, dance and visual arts. Its new cultural confidence is making its mark on the city skyline and on other aspects of urban life. The banks of the Swan River and nearby hectares of natural bushland in Kings Park create a stunning contrast against the skyline of city high rises and provide multiple opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.  So take the opportunity to attend a highly rewarding conference, and enjoy all that the West has to offer with a pre or post conference holiday as well.

Together with all speakers I would be pleased to welcome you in Perth at our 50th AAG conference making this conference a golden opportunity for ageing.
